Welcome to TalkMandarin.Com. This website is the online information
centre on the Mandarin Chinese Conversation Courses conducted
at the MSC Tuition & Training Centre in the city of Kuching, Sarawak state,
East Malaysia.
The Mandarin Conversation Courses are suitable for you regardless
of your educational background or race, as long as you could understand
simple English / Bahasa Malaysia. In fact, almost
80% of our students are non-Chinese and the rest are English-educated
Chinese. On top of many students from Sarawak and the other states in
Malaysia,
we also have students from Poland, Germany, Austria, USA, Korea, Japan,
UK, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Indonesia, Canada, etc.
With the oldest student being 83 years old, we have people from all
sorts of backgrounds including (but not limited to) businessman and woman,
executive, bankers, accountant, lawyer, government servant, teacher,
expatriate, student, housewive, programmer, retiree, doctor, nurse,
architect, university lecturer, musician, flight steward / stewardess, etc.
All our courses are conducted in English and a mixture of Bahasa Malaysia
(Malay) and some Chinese dialects such as Cantonese (GuangDongHua),
Hokkien (FuJianHua), Teochew (ChaoZhouHua), etc.
when necessary.
Guess What? Our system is so effective almost all our students were able
to speak and understand basic Mandarin within just 3-4 months,
upon the completion of the Basic course alone.

(Familiarisation) - 4 Months

- Duration: 16 Lessons x 2 hours per Lesson per Week
- Schedule: Wednesday Evening 7.30-9.30pm
- Suitable For: All Adults, School-Leavers or Students (English-educated adults 13-83 yrs old, regardless of race)
- Subjects Covered: Introduction to Functional & Practical Mandarin; Mandarin Pronunciation; Basic Listening Skill; Basic HanYuPinYin (Romanization); etc.

Intermediate
(Certificate of Attendance) - 4 Months

- Duration: 16 Lessons x 2 hours per Lesson per Week
- Schedule: Wednesday Evening 7.30-9.30pm
- Suitable For: Those who have successfully completed our Basic Mandarin Conversation course only.
- Subjects Covered: Effective Listening & Interpretation Skill; Sentence Structure & Grammar; Vocabulary; Effective Communication Skills; Familiarisation with Word Recognition; etc.
- Certification: Any participant who have successfully completed this course with a minimum of 85% attendance and also displayed a reasonable amount of mastering the Mandarin Language will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.

Advanced
(Certificate of Proficiency) - 4 Months

- Duration: 16 Lessons x 2 hours per Lesson per Week
- Schedule: Wednesday Evening 7.30-9.30pm
- Suitable For: Those who have successfully completed and received the certificate for our Intermediate Mandarin Conversation course only.
- Subjects Covered: Advanced General Mandarin Spoken & Reading Skills; Business Mandarin; Taiwan/China Mandarin; Professional Communication Skills; Modern Mandarin with Updates of Terms & Phrases for everyday 21st Century Lifestyle.; etc.
- Certification: Any participant who have successfully completed this course with a minimum of 85% attendance and also displayed a high level of competency in the Mandarin Language will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency Grade I, II or III..
